Schafreuter located at the entrance of the Karwendel, which is often pronounced as "Shafraiter" according to the local way, has one of the most attractive one-day touring route and is well known with its Tölzer hut.

BOB railway offers special combination ticekts including bus transfers to the mountains.

"Bergsteiger Ticket Karwendel Eng/Spitzing" includs return travel including a bus transfer and costs EUR21 (or EUR19 for DAV = German Alpine Association). Today I took the train to Lenggries and change bus to Eng. I got off the bus at the "Einstieg Tölzerhütte" where a small parking is also available for those who will hike up to the hut.
Starting from the end of the parking, soon you will find a branch to the hut on the left side.

It took only two hours to the hut for about 950m height.

Karwendel mountains are growing and growing

After a steap stone terrain, the peak became visible

Now you find the Tölzer hut

Climbing up the steap rock behind the hut, you see now a great view of the Schafreuter

The last several meters are really steap

Here we are!

Zugspitze behind Vorderskopf wih flat peak

Now I have to go down

That was the way from the hut

Going down along the gentle north-west slope

Beautiful fall and Karwendel
