German map CD from Geographic Survai Office TOP-50 can be good choice for hikings and skiing. The format of the map is compatible to that of Austrian Map and Swissmap 100 (V2.x). If you need an interfacing between these maps and your Garmin e-series, thi editrex2 (Free GPS software is also the best choice. The editrex2 supports also the format of Swissmap 100 V3.x and Swissmap 50.

Changes from Version 1.2 to 1.3

(1) up/downloaded to/from your Garmin GPS (eTrex, eTrex summit, eMap).

How does it work?
(1) Create waypoints

Create an ASCII overlay using TOP50/Austrian Map.
Text has to be placed exactly where the waypoint should be.

(2) Import the overlay to editrex2 and edit symbols and altitudes.

Edit the imported waypoints using the waypoint editor. Altitude has to be read manually from the map.
Symbols can be selected from the list. Create a route for your tour. Then upload waypoints and route to your GPS.

Use navigation, collect track log.
